We are constantly in a relationship with light and the cycles embedded within the human experience. These interests sometime manifest in exciting collaborations and offerings. We were honored to work with the good people and historic grounds of the Mount Auburn Cemetery as we recognized the darkest day of the year , inviting the public to meditate on light, darkness, remembrance, and Earth’s cycles.
The in-person event was composed of a sites-specific walk, allowing one to enter the lit historic grounds, approaching Bigelow Chapel to light a candle and sit with live music, to then embracing the Bigelow facade installation. An additional video offering was created, arranging a poetic edit that included 6 ‘thought'-artists’ from the area reflecting on their relationships to the Winter Solstice and cycles.
